I’ve got the numbers for the new Top 10 retail games played on Xbox LIVE this week! As usual, this isn’t specifically a list of multiplayer games, but all retail games played while gamers are connected to Xbox LIVE. I’m watching you.

GLOBAL Top Played Retail Games
- Halo 3
- Call of Duty: World at War
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Gears of War 2
- Grand Theft Auto IV
- FIFA 09
- Left 4 Dead
- Fallout 3
- UFC 2009 Undisputed
- Rock Band 2
Halo Wars still hanging in there! It even beats #11 (Fable 2) by a decent margin. Well, locally anyway. The rest of the world still rates zombies. And UFC. And we still prefer Guitar Hero to Rock Band. So really no surprises there.
Did you know that if the Avatar Editor were a game (it’s not, obviously–apples and oranges–but close your eyes for a moment and let’s play pretend) it would be #4 in ANZ? You don’t have to admit it, but in secret you spend as much time customizing your avatars as I do! Glad I’m not alone there. I find it only fair to change at least once a week. Like doing virtual laundry.

Well to be honest, maybe if we actually had Rock Band 2 it would be a different story…
Rock Band is so poorly marketed in Australia, EA should be shot for doing such a shit job at it.
Just import it from the UK, who knows if or when RB2 will even make it here. Rock Band 2 is so much better than the first.
I love Rock Band, more than I like Guitar Hero (even though both are great games); as soon as I started hearing about Rock Band 2 I was excited, alas though that was a good 12-16 months ago now and we still don’t have a date for it. So I wouldn’t see it reaching the shores of Australia at all with Rock Band Beatles and LEGO Rock Band both on the horizon already.
Well we don’t exactly get a choice when it comes to Guitar Hero vs Rock Band, especially since Rock Band 2 hasn’t even been released here. There was no marketing, no advertising and no brand recognition. Plus GH:WT had already been released so most people discounted it and it’s older artwork as a dodgy rip off. In fact I’ve even seem some sites say that exactly. They are then surprised to learn that not only was it the original full band experience, that the creators are the guys who started Guitar Hero in the first place.
My friends banned me from going near the Harmonix booth at PAX08 because I have some strong opinions on their Aussie support, despite one of the lead devs, Dan Teasdale, being an Aussie. I still imported Rock Band 2 to play though since it’s what all of my US friends play.
Blame EA not Harmonix for the lack of release here.
Well i havent changed my clothes in well over 3 months .. so i think im pretty skinky by now .. i better go check out whats new and give my avatar a shower as well while im at it
I wish EA Sports allowed us to use our XBOX360 avatar in their games rather than their rather poor attempt to create a EA Avatar. Just makes sense really that if you are playing say FIFA09 on your XBOX360 that you should be able to use your avatar rather than their crapola one. Love Microsoft. Keep on keeping on!!!
All right. I confess – I change my avatar’s clothes about every second time I log in to XBL. Mostly to reflect what I’m actually wearing. Is it OK if I out my wife for doing the same thing?
Do you have XBLA weekly stats too?
GO halo wars exept how you have a fixed base and u cant build turrents >=(
1# Halo 3
2# Call of Duty: World at War

I think I go into the editor once a fortnight or so to see if anything takes my interest, but sadly no. I’m a basketballer and there ain’t no damm basketball clothes in the store. They need to update it more often.
