30 11 2009

PSA!

In case you missed it, the twitterverse recently banded together, retweeting like crazy until an exclusive Avatar item was unlocked. Congrats, it’s a Chocobo! But in order to receive it, you’ll have to register for it and you need to make sure you register from the right regional website or you’ll get an error.

Australia

New Zealand

People were reporting difficulty registering earlier, but you should be able to register now as long as you do it on your regional Xbox.com site.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email sometime during December with a token for your chocobo.

Enjoy!

Win an Invitation to the Sydney Xbox Insider Tour Event

5 11 2009

The grand finale of the Australian leg of the Xbox Insider Tour is in Sydney next week on November 11. You’ve seen how much fun we all had in Brisbane. Melbourne is coming up! And now we’re getting ready to take Sydney by storm. Want to be there when it goes off? I’ve got invitations for Xbox fans on Twitter and Facebook, and I don’t want any left over so I’m giving them all away.

Both of these giveaways commence 3pm AET on November 5 and end at 11PM AET on November 6. Entries submitted outside this time frame will not be eligible. We’ve got to make sure we have enough time to get invitations out and names on the door.

Twitter

Post a Twitter response to @XboxAustralia answering the question, “What is your favourite new Xbox 360 feature or game, and why?” Use the hashtag #InsiderSydney in order for the entry to be counted. One entry per person only. If an entrant posts multiple entries, only the first one will be counted, so make the first one your best! The winning entrants will be contacted via direct message on Twitter. You must follow @XboxAustralia in order to be eligible (if you don’t follow us, we can’t contact you).

Facebook

Top Played Retail Games

4 11 2009

Yeah, I know the Insider Tour is kind of awesome. Believe me, it’s what we’re focusing on here as well. But you know what else is deserving of attention? Games! Specifically, the games you guys play. And without further ado, here are the retail games you all played the most last week while connected to Xbox LIVE.

  1. Halo 3
  2. Call of Duty 4
  3. Call of Duty: World at War
  4. Forza Motorsport 3
  5. Halo 3: ODST
  6. Grand Theft Auto IV
  7. Borderlands
  8. FIFA 10
  9. Gears of War 2
  10. Fallout 3

I have to be honest, it warms my heart that Fallout 3 continues to hold onto a spot in the top 10. The guys at Bethesda really made a gem with that one and it’s good to see so many people playing it still.
